In 1323 BC, a young Egyptian king was dying. His name was Tut-ankh-amun meaning the "Living Image of Amun. Tutankhamun is the best known pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. He was most likely the son of Akhenaton, the heretic king of the 18th dynasty. His mother was most likely Queen Kiya, one of the king’s wives. Ankhesenpaaten, his older half sister, became his queen. Tutankhamun was only 9 years old when he became pharaoh, in 1333 BC, he reigned until his premature death at the age of 18 or 19. Some believe that he was murdered and others that he was deliberatly sent to war to be killed. The exact cause of death remains unknown. Those who believe in his assasinationa give as a proof dense spot at the lower back of his skull, but some experts believe it was caused after his death. His mummy is in such a poor condition that we may never know what really happened to this child pharaoh.
