Should jewellery be hallmarked?

At least one hallmark is required on jewellery, in France it is the lozenge. For gold jewellery it is the eagle's head, indicating 18 karat. French silver jewellery will bear another guarantee mark.

What is the difference bewteen gold plated and vermeil jewellery?

Gold plated jewellery is made of a base metal (often copper alloy) coated with a thin layer of gold using an electrolytic process. Gold plated refers to a minimum thickness of 3 microns of gold. Vermeil jewellery is made of a silver base overplated with gold using an electrolytic process. Vermeil refers to a minimum thickness of 5 microns of gold.

Is payment made on delivery?

Orders are validated once payment is received. Card and Paypal payments are quicker to receive...for other methods of payment, validation delay depends on how long it takes to receive cheques or transfers. Orders that have not been paid are not validated.
